    About the Expo…


    The Bronx Business Opportunities Expo is an annual event hosted by The South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SoBRO). This event is the longest running business expo in the Bronx, with over 300 attendees. Among those who attend are business owners, managers, purchasing agents, sales people, CEOs, CFOs and all decision-makers responsible for making companies grow.




    Where and When is the Expo?


    This year’s Expo will be held on September 12, 2019 (9am to 2:00pm) at Metropolitan College of New York, located at 463 East 149th Street (between Bergen and Brook Avenues) Bronx, NY 10455.




    Who Should Attend?


    The Expo is a free event specially held for NYC business owners (existing businesses and entrepreneurs) to find all of the resources they need to become better business owners, make more informed business decisions and improve productivity. Whether it’s making the move to accessing capital, obtaining legal services, fixing IRS problems, finding the right bank, obtaining health insurance for your employees or yourself, automating your processes, getting certified, pursuing government contracts, starting a new business or growing an existing business… you’ll find a better way to do business at the 2019 Annual Bronx Business Opportunities Expo.

    If your business is helping small business, or products and services to sell to the public, you should exhibit at the Annual Bronx Business Opportunities Expo. If you are an entrepreneur interested in getting exposure, you are more than welcome to exhibit as well.     About the Organizers

    The SoBRO PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) has been providing assistance to businesses in the Bronx since 1991.   The SoBRO PTAC  is funded by the Department of Defense and Defense Logistics Agency to assist all NYC based firms including those categorized as small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, minority- and women-owned businesses, service disabled veteran-owned and veteran-owned small businesses to sell their products and services to the government.  We also provide bid notification, host business development workshops, technical assistance and training to businesses that are interested in contracting with the local, state and federal government. SoBRO was established in 1972 to reverse the flight of businesses and jobs from the South Bronx.  Recognizing that rebuilding a community had to be a multifaceted effort – which required replacing vacant lots with businesses and housing, addressing poverty by creating jobs and training people for those jobs, and insuring a brighter future for the community’s young people – SoBRO’s programming has expanded over the years to meet the growing needs of this Bronx community.  SoBRO’s menu of services includes: Programs for youth that combine academic skills and work readiness training with leadership development activities while exposing them to new ideas and possibilities; Job training, basic education, and placement services that prepare low-income, unemployed and underemployed individuals for the workforce and provide additional services like financial literacy training to help them become self-sufficient; Creation of high quality, attractive affordable housing for low and moderate income families and supportive housing for individuals with special needs; Assisting small businesses to grow and prosper, fostering the creation of job opportunities and increasing investment in the community; Commercial revitalization that helps to attract business to commercial corridors and encourages businesses to relocate to or remain in the Bronx; and Urban planning and sustainability initiatives that address environmental and health concerns of the 21st Century.
